Rendering and HTML
Does the delivered HTML contain enough text? If not, crawlers without JavaScript see an empty page. RankScan does not run a browser for this.
Structure and linking
Heading hierarchy, semantic HTML, crawl depth and orphan pages: pages from the sitemap or Search Console that no internal link points to. Checked after every complete crawl.
Structured data
Schema.org and JSON-LD are checked for presence and consistency, including organization data for your brand entity.
Indexing and AI access
robots.txt, noindex, canonical and status codes, plus the question which AI bots you are currently blocking.

Frequently asked questions
How often is my site crawled?
Every two days, daily during the trial. On top of that you can trigger 5 to 20 manual scans per month depending on your plan.
How many pages are covered?
200, 500 or 1000 pages per run depending on your plan, with a crawl depth of 5 to 15.
What is the Website Health Index?
A value from 0 to 100: the average of all pages in the last crawl. A page without findings counts 100 points, one with warnings 70, one with an error 0. Structure hints and pure info do not count.
Does RankScan check access for AI assistants?
Yes. The card “Access for AI assistants” shows five checks, without a score of its own. If the technical AI readiness falls below 40 out of 100 points, the action “Low AI readiness” appears. RankScan detects an llms.txt and shows a note. It does not count because its effect on AI answers is not proven. More in our article on AI readiness.
Where do the load time values come from?
From the Chrome UX Report, so from field data of real visits. A lab test on your own machine measures something else. RankScan uses the mobile values. If Google has no data for your site, RankScan shows no rating.
Can I hide findings?
Yes. You can ignore an action. It then moves to the “Ignored” tab, where you can reopen it.
