are search results that go beyond the classic blue link and show extra elements, such as star ratings, product prices, or event details. They become possible when a page provides suitable (schema markup).

It is important to set the right expectation:

  • structured data can be a prerequisite for rich results,
  • but it does not guarantee they will be shown,
  • and not every Schema.org type produces a Google rich result.

Google offers a gallery of supported types and provides the Rich Results Test, a tool that shows whether a page qualifies for particular rich result types. The markup must always be valid and match the visible page content, for example for prices or ratings.
