What the connector delivers #

The RankScan connector is a free data source for Looker Studio. It reads your data through the RankScan reporting API. All fields are available in a single data source, grouped into folders.

  • Website Health: the health index, issues by check and severity, and results per page and crawl day.
  • Search Visibility: Google rankings per keyword and day, positions, SERP features and competitors.
  • AI Visibility: answers from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot per prompt, brand mentions, cited sources and entities.
  • Scores: the three RankScan scores for AI Visibility, Search Visibility and Website Health, for the property and for each topic.
  • Tables like in the app: a keyword summary and a prompt summary with one row per keyword or prompt for the report period.

What you need #

You need a RankScan account with API access. Every RankScan plan includes API access, and so does the 7-day free trial. No account yet? Create a RankScan account.

The connector only reads data. It cannot change anything in your RankScan account.

Connected in six steps.

It takes only a few minutes to get from an API token to your first chart.

1

Create an API token

In RankScan, open Settings → API Tokens and create a token. Copy it right away, because RankScan shows it only once.

2

Open the connector

Open the RankScan connector in Looker Studio. You will find the link below.

3

Authorize the connector

Looker Studio asks for permission to connect to an external service. Review the request and allow it.

4

Paste your token

Paste the API token into the field labeled “Key” and submit it.

5

Choose a property

Select the RankScan property you want to report on. The list shows every property in your RankScan account.

6

Connect

Click “Connect”. Looker Studio creates the data source. Then add it to a report and choose the date range there.
