FAQPage Schema

FAQPage schemaFAQPage schema labels visible questions and answers on a page in a structured way. It may only be used when the FAQ content is actually visible on the page.Open glossary entry → describes a page of frequently asked questions (FAQ) and their answers in a machine-readable way. Each question is marked up as a Question with an acceptedAnswer.

The key rule: FAQ markup may only be used for visible FAQ content. The questions and answers in the markup must match the visible page content.

It suits pages such as:

• FAQ and help pages,
• support articles,
• guides with genuine common questions.

The prominent display as a rich resultRich results are enhanced displays in Google, for example with ratings, prices or breadcrumbs, which can be enabled by suitable structured data.Open glossary entry → in Google is now heavily restricted; Google shows it mainly for authoritative government and health sites. FAQ markup is therefore no longer a guaranteed click-through lever. For forums with multiple user answers, the QAPage type is more appropriate than FAQPage.
