Google Google Search Console (GSC) is a free Google tool that shows how a website performs in organic search, with data on impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position, plus indexing and technical issues.Open glossary entry → gives RankScan real data from Google Search: clicks and Impressions indicate how often a website's search result was shown in Google Search, regardless of whether it was clicked. They are a core Google Search Console metric and reflect a page's raw visibility for given queries.Open glossary entry → per page. So you see not only where you rank, but also whether searchers click. The connection is optional. Two measures exist only with it.
How to connect Search Console #
Open “Settings” and the “Integrations” tab.
In the “Google Search Console” card, click “Connect Google Search Console”. You are redirected to Google.
Sign in with the Google account that has access to your website in Search Console and allow access.
If a Search Console property matches your domain, RankScan connects it automatically. Otherwise choose the matching property from the list and click “Connect Property”.
Back in Integrations, the card shows “Connected”. RankScan loads the data of the last 90 days and then syncs it daily.
Where the data appears #
- Search visibility describes how present and findable a website is in the organic search results. It is not the same as traffic, but reflects theoretical findability.Open glossary entry → The “Clicks from Google Search” card shows clicks and impressions of your top pages over the last 30 days.
- Pages The “Clicks (Google)” column shows clicks per page.
- Measures “Pages at the edge of the top positions” finds pages in positions 5 to 20 with notable impressions. “Good positions, few clicks” finds pages whose title and A snippet is the compact display of a result in the search results, usually made up of a title, URL and description. It is what users see before clicking.Open glossary entry → get too few clicks.

Disconnect #
Click “Disconnect” in the card and confirm. Syncing stops. RankScan deletes the queries per page and no longer shows clicks.
Tip #
Use a Google account that has access to your website in Search Console. Otherwise RankScan finds no matching property.
